You Know What I Think...

* Mel Kiper isn't nearly as pompous as he used to be. Seriously, in past years Mel's head would have exploded after the Bills traded up for McCargo. Does Mel not care as much anymore or is it because he realized making an ass out of himself isn't worth it since ESPN is still CTC?

* I would rather be a Bulls fan without any primadonnas on the team, and have them lose in the first round of the playoffs, rather than mortgage the chemistry of the team and have them win a series.

* I can only make this comment because of the Bulls...check that Jordan dynasty of the 90's.

* John Daly's career PGA earnings are $8.8M. His career gambling losses are $50-60M. Either he's made far more money from sponsors than anyone realized or he just f'd up where to put the decimal point.

* What are the odds that John Daly will be working as a casino greeter with Pete Rose in 10 years? 3-1? 3-2?

* Gnarls Barkley is the best band name...ever.

* While we're talking about gambling, I lost $5 on the Kentucky Derby this past Saturday, which drops my career gambling earnings to $397.

* Ricky Williams is far less harmless than TO is to a locker room...as long as he has Doritos.

* I would be lying if I didn't say that Derek Bell is my biggest inspiration at work right now. Thanks Kevin for reminding me of that yesterday.

* I have looked forward to about 10 NBA games since Jordan retired (the 2nd time) and one of those was this past Saturday night for Suns/Lakers Game 7. What a disappointment...

* If Shawn Marion was a little more athletic, he would be a pretty decent NBA player.

* New Bears punt returner, Devin Hester was interviewed on Comcast and well...he sounds like possibly the dumbest individual to ever wear a Bears uniform. This includes Steve McMichael, and I mean that in the best way possible.

* If you don't have any pre-season expectations for a winning baseball team, can you really be too depressed when they start playing as I expected them to?
